Dynasty Warriors 6 GoldIf you’re a long-time fan of the Dynasty Warriors franchise who’s finally starting to get a little bored of the same characters and the usual combination of fun and frustration, take heart, because Dynasty Warriors 6 has gone gold. No longer will you be daunted by closed castle gates or a mere six foot span of river. In the newest game, set to ship on the 19th, you’ll be able to scale castle walls, swim across rivers and even infiltrate forces via their sewer system. The combat system has been upgraded to include the new Renbou system as well as the standard charge and musou attacks. There is of course the expected visual upgrade, with the game supporting 720p high-def output. Many of the characters have been reimagined and redesigned as well. In addition to costume changes, some of them will be wielding entirely new weapons, and will be boasting motion-captured moves from some of Asia’s leading stuntmen. EA Extends NFL Exclusivity Until 2013 EA has extended its exclusive licensing deal with the NFL until 2013, which means that EA games will be the only ones to feature genuine NFL players, teams, and stadiums for the next five years. In addition to giving EA the sole rights to develop, publish, and distribute NFL-based games for everything that draws current, the deal also gives EA access to content from NFL Films and the NFL Network. Rumor has it they also get John Facenda frozen in carbonite. Though other football games have found creative ways around EA's exclusivity, such as All-Pro Football's use of retired NFL players or Blitz the League's fictional teams, it's hard to ignore the advantage that the NFL license gives to the Madden games. EA Offers Refund for Medal of Honor's Absent Online Play EA is offering a refund to anyone who purchased the Wii version of Medal of Honor Heroes 2 in Australia who was disappointed to learn that the game lacks online functionality. EA removed the online play from the game and, oopsie,  kind of forgot to mention it to anyone, including the folks who designed the game's cover, which indicated that online was an included feature. So did the instruction manual. So did EA's website. EA admitted the documentation errors, apologized for any confusion their mistake may have created for consumers, and offered to give folks their money back. All of which is exactly the right thing to do, but why'd they take the online out in the first place? The launch of the new game, which is actually both a prequel and sequel to the 2007 hit shooting series, had already been announced in November last year. Speculations and rumors have been surrounding this name for long now and there's no sign of Capcom giving any hint. No one is sure if this is only an extension pack for Lost Planet Extreme Condition or it's another game all-together. News has come from Siliconera blog that even ESRB has rated Lost Planet Colonies as T for the same content as Lost Planet Extreme Conditions was i.e. Animated Blood, Mild Language and Violence. Nintendo has announced that come February 10th DS Lite would be available in Cobalt Blue/Black garb in American stores. Nintendo is doing all it can to extend the sales of its handheld, which was the best-selling video game system in the United States last year. It sold over 8.5 million copies last year alone and overall, it has sold more than 17.6 million since November 2004. People are going crazy over Lite’s touch-screen, voice interaction and similar other innovative features. The new Cobalt/Black version is the seventh color in DS Lite’s wardrobe. On their journey, they are discovering lots of surprises, including the Babylon Rogues, its a group of avian thieves who are also after the Ark of the Cosmos. This issue sets off a war between who gets the artifact, now leading them to settle their dispute by having an Extreme Gear competition. At the end of the game, it is revealed that the Ark of the Cosmos together in Babylon Garden will form a black hole. PS3F reviews Devil May Cry 4Filed under: NewsIt looks like our good friends sworn enemies at PS3 Fanboy managed to snag a copy of Devil May Cry 4 a little early and even had the audacity to post a review of the game. As we are apparently not worthy to receive a copy of our own (please, Capcom!), we figured we'd point out the review for our readers. For the most part, everything in the review should apply to the Xbox 360 version as well. You know, things like good gameplay, great graphics, and wonky camera angles. Those things should pop up on your 360 as well. You should, however, disregard the mishegoss about installing the game onto a hard drive and also the single reference to the O button. Everything else should be copacetic. Rock Band guitar: now with a string!Filed under: News, Hacks / mods, Fan stuffThe music genre argument -- why don't you play a real instrument! -- gets more and more vague as industrious gamers begin to meld game instruments with the real thing. The latest in a string of Frankensteinian efforts is a modification to the Rock Band Stratocaster that bestows the guitar with real guitar strings! Well, actually it bestows the instrument with precisely one guitar string, but it's a start, right? Now you might not look quite as ridiculous when you play the game with a pick. How does it work? The string is attached to a switch (the knobby thing on the left in the image above) which is activated when pressure is applied to the string. Ingenious, we say! The only question now is how we get our hands on one. Rumor: Dead Rising 2 being developed in the WestFiled under: News, RumorsContinuing this week's rumor filled rumor pile of rumors, word comes down the pipeline that Capcom's no so confirmed baby Dead Rising 2 is not only real and in development, but is being worked on by a Western developer. Shock and awe!The rumor comes straight out of the March issue of EGM and although they don't reveal too many specifics, EGM does hint that Dead Rising 2's Western developer is based in L.A. Our friends over at Joystiq are putting their developer chips on Gearbox as we say "Dead Rising 2? ZOMG!" We guess it's also worth mentioning that they claim the zombie sequel is being developed as multi-platform title.
