C&C3: Tiberium Wars Expansion Planned for Early 2008

Strategy fans rejoice, there will be an expansion coming early next year for the third Command and Conquer game. Kane’s Wrath will add a new campaign, multiplayer maps, characters and gameplay modes.There will also be some upgrades for each faction: both will gain sub-factions that have their own sets of units, powers and upgrades as well as the GDF and Nod getting their own new toys to play with. There will also be more live action video sequences, so the expansion will flow in much the same way as the original game. Along with some interface upgrades for the Xbox 360 multiplayer will get a boost with the inclusion of a new gameplay type called Global Domination. It’s like Risk but you’ll have all the C&C weaponry at your disposal. When units meet on the map the game will switch to the standard perspective and gameplay until one side is defeated. PS3 Passes Stress Test With Flying Colors

The folks over at the PS3 Vault were curious about just how sturdy at PS3 really is (it gets pretty dull over there sometimes) so they whammied up a stress test to put the console through its paces.They ran a PS3 for 108 hours straight in three separate operating conditions: a typical family room, the back of a freezer van, and a sauna. The test swapped between playing games and watching Blu-ray movies, with identical cycles being used in all three scenarios. Everything was kept as uniform as possible, from the order the movies were watched, to the controllers used, to the operators playing the games. So, what'd they find? Short of a few anomalies, such as the tray randomly vibrating in the family room, some sluggish playback in the freezer, and a burning smell in the sauna, the PS3 worked perfectly. Brash Announces Chipmunks Rhythm Game

Brash Entertainment has revealed that it will be releasing a music and rhythm game in conjunction with the debut of the upcoming Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.Alvin, Simon, and Theodore will work their way, Guitar Hero style, from playing smaller venues up to larger stadiums, and finally Rockathonapalooza. The game will feature at least 40 songs from acts like Run DMC, Blink 182, and REM, all performed...wait for it...in Chipmunk style. You know how your voice sounds after you've sucked down some helium? Yep, that's pretty much what the Chipmunks sound like. Bad news from the Electronic Arts camp: Scott Blackwood, the exececutive producer on Skate, brings word that the game's demo (set to be on Xbox Live Marketplace now) has been delayed.In a post over at the EA Forums, Blackwood breaks the bad news to a flood of angry gamers, stating server complications as the culprit."As you know," he writes, "we are trying something completely new for an Xbox Live Marketplace demo by allowing people to play the game and upload footage to our Skate Web site. Silicon Knights To Epic: Our Claim Is Bigger Than Your Claim

A few weeks back, Silicon Knights sued Epic over its Unreal Engine 3 licensing agreement. In the suit SK alleged that Epic did not deliver workable game code when it was promised, effectively sabotaging the development of Too Human. SK is seeking a clean break from its agreement with Epic as well as damages to compensate for the time and expense of building its own game engine. According to GameDaily BIZ, Epic has filed a counterclaim stating that it has done nothing wrong and that SK is in fact trying to steal Epic’s engine technology to build its own: This lawsuit is a cynical effort by SK to unlawfully enrich itself at the expense of Epic Games… After having exploited Epic’s intellectual property to its advantage, SK now seeks to renege on its payment obligations… Epic is seeking injunctive relief, compensatory damages “in excess of $650,000” and the destruction of infringing goods. If you purchased either Spyro 2 or MediEvil from the European PlayStation Network, Sony will be issuing you a refund some time in the next week.Apparently, fixing whatever technical difficulties prompted the removal of both games from the store is proving a bit trickier than Sony had originally hoped, so rather than asking you to wait for them to replace your wonky version with a working one, they're wiping the slate completely clean. Once your money is refunded to your Store wallet, the broken games will be removed from your download list. This post is a summary of recently given information about the Death Knight in World of Warcraft as posted in the official WoW Forums: “There are a lot of things still being worked out with the Death Knight class such as specific spell abilities. Unlike a traditional caster type however, a Death Knight’s spell power comes from runes that are etched into their blade. Think Warcraft III when you think about the possibilities of abilities for the Death Knight. I say possibilities because things are still in process for the development of the class and there will be (of course) a lot of testing for balance done. Edge of Reality, also currently working on Cipher Complex for Sega, is in development of the new Incredible Hulk video game for the next gen consoles.Meanwhile Amaze Entertainment, who developed titles such as Eragon and Pirates of the Carribean will be developing the hand-held versions of the Incredible Hulk. Last week was a crazy week software wise for all the big three consoles. Mario Party 8, Hot Shot Golf 5 and Oblivion all lead to higher than normal numbers.Things are lowering off, but one of those that dropped that doesn’t normally was both Nintendo consoles. The Wii in particular received a 20% drop.
